At Botticelli, we understand the importance of good and healthy food. Unfortunately, many people across the United States suffer from food insecurity and never experience the joy of a home-cooked meal. At Botticelli, we believe that there is something special about a home-cooked meal. It's a meal that's prepared with love and care, and it's often shared with loved ones. However, it's disheartening to know that many individuals in the United States are unable to experience this simple pleasure due to food insecurity. It's a sad reality that so many people go through life without ever having the opportunity to enjoy a warm, delicious, and nutritious meal made at home.
Knowing this, Botticelli has decided to partner with a local food bank, Long Island Cares, Inc., to help combat food insecurity on Long Island, New York.
Their mission is “to bring together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long Island and, to the best of our ability, provide for the humanitarian needs of our community. Our goals are to improve food security for families, sponsor programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educate the public about the root causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island.” (www.licares.org)
In November of 2021, we posted a Give Back Social Ad which engaged our followers to like, comment, and share our post. For every one of those engagements they participated in, we donated a dollar! Just from this post, we were able to donate over $900.
In September of 2023, we donated 6,444 lbs., which equates to 3,232 jars of pasta sauce! As one of the most vital components in their client’s diets, this contribution helped them tremendously.
In November of 2023, the Botticelli team got together in a big way. We spent time boxing, packing, and stacking Thanksgiving kits packed with delicious goodies. We also participated in their Pack It Up For Kids program, which helps pack kids’ meals so they have access to enough food for six meals and two snacks per child. Together, the team packed about 80 Thanksgiving meals and about 315 kids’ meals.
